It’s Not the Screens. It’s How We’re Using Them.

- Mindful Tech Practices
It’s easy to blame the screens.
The phone.
The iPad.
The laptop.
But here’s the real talk:
It’s not the screen.
It’s the intention behind it.
It’s the habits we build around it.
It’s the mindless scrolling that eats our hours and our lives.
We don’t become distracted, lazy, or detached because of a device.
We become that way because we never taught ourselves discipline.
Islam Always Had the Blueprint
Long before smartphones, Allah ﷻ already gave us the framework:
"By time, indeed, mankind is in loss — except for those who believe and do righteous deeds and encourage each other to truth and patience." (Surah Al-Asr)
Time is precious.
Wasting it isn’t just inefficient — it’s dangerous for the soul.
The DigitalDeen Way
We don't need to throw away our devices.
We need to reframe our relationship with them.
✅ Use your phone for learning, not just lurking.
✅ Use your apps for dhikr, not just distractions.
✅ Use your screen to connect — to Allah, to knowledge, to purpose.
Screens aren't the enemy.
Mindless consumption is.
We’re the ones who decide if these tools bring us closer to Allah or further away.

About Me
Adam Sam'on
DigitalDeen/3DDad
I’m a Melbourne-based educator, tech lead, and dad who turned a passion for purposeful digital living into DigitalDeen—a space where faith, creativity, and technology come together. With over 15 years of teaching experience (and plenty of screen-time battles at home), I created DigitalDeen to raise the Digital Ummah and help individuals and families build intentional, balanced, and barakah-filled digital habits that rise above the noise of mainstream digital culture. From blog posts to digital tools (and the occasional 3D-printed life hack), everything here is crafted with a mix of educator insight, dad energy, and a deep love for faith-driven innovation.
